Basketball Game. Victory party. Dad.

"BE AGGRESSIVE! B-E AGGRESSIVE! B-E-A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E!" we shout. BUZZ! "Another shot scored by #27, Logan Dean!" the announcer yells over the speakers. Logan saw me cheer for him and shoots me a kiss as if it's a basketball going in the hoop, like in 17 Again. "WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" The crowd roars and disturbs Logan's and my moment. Sean just scored. 10 seconds left. There is no way we can lose now.
VICTORY! We won, but like I said earlier there was no way we were going to lose. There is a party at Sean's house to celebrate the win. I heard there is one at that guy, David... David Something's house but he's weird and smart and stuff so why would I go to there? Also, Raven is going to Sean's, and I wouldn't want to be alone.
I am on my way home now. Logan is walking me :) He did such a great job today! At least 6 of the baskets were scored by him. Brrrr! It is chilly in my cheerleading uniform. Logan gives me his jacket. I love wearing his coats and stuff. They are always warm like his hugs, safe like a shelter, and smell good like clean laundry or a fresh spring day. We are almost to my house. OH NO!!! It is 2 hours past curfew! Dad is going to kill me! I can see my front porch. The light is still on. That means that he is still awake and that there is no way of sneaking in. O well. I had a good life. It was short, but never the less good. I think Logan could hear my heart thud and drop to my stomach. "You ok?" he said. "I wont be in about 30 seconds." I said. We got to the porch and he kissed me good night. I got my key out and walked in. The smell of my dad's meatloaf wafted over to me and danced on my nose. He had been cooking. That means he was really worried. "Dad?" No answer. A little louder, "Dad" I turned the corner into my kitchen. he was sitting at the breakfast table with a cup of black coffee. He didn't look at me, acknowledge that i was in the room, or even make one move. He looked paralyzed. "Do you know what time it is?" His low and scratchy voice startled me. "I'm really sorry! I was just..." "I didn't ask if you were sorry, I asked if you knew what time it is." He is really mad. "Yes sir" I respond. "Do you know what time you are supposed to be home at?" He inquires. "Yes sir" "Why are you late?" "I went to a party and lost track of time." He looks disappointed. "I don't like not knowing what your doing ma'am. If you think this is going to be a regular thing, you are deeply mistaken." His words sink into my skin like daggers. I cannot help but burst into tears. "I... I'm sorry!" He finally looks at me. "Sorry isn't good enough miss. If you don't make the effort then why should I? I'm giving up. Have fun doing whatever." I sob harder. "I'm sorry for everything! I don't want you to give up! I want my daddy! It was a mistake! I'm never going to do it ever again! I am so sorry! So so sorry!" His face softens. "Now you know what it feels like to be scared that you are losing me. Don't ever make me feel that way about you again. Now go get some sleep. You look worn out." I stop. Stop crying, stop breathing, stop thinking. Just stop. "What?" "You heard me. I'll see you in the morning. I love you." His words make me start shaking. 'I love you'. Neither one of us has said that in a very long time. "I love you too dad."

Oh Merryweather High...

Another day in the hectic hallway. People push past me. They are in a hurry to get to their lockers. I see Raven coming down the hallway. “Ooohhh, I wanna be just like her!” I think to myself. It’s great being Raven’s best friend. She walks in, everything is coordinated. Sigh. She passes by me. “Hey Raven!” I say to her. She looks at me and gives me one of those yes-I-see-you looks followed by a but-that-doesn’t-mean-that-we-are-about-to-have-a-conversation look. “Must’ve been busy.” I thought to myself. By lunch period, teachers have given up on trying to teach us anything. The students either waste class or sleep through it. In the cafeteria, I see Raven and the other cheerleaders. I am dying for some curly fries, but Raven is eating a nice, healthy ceaser salad. I decided, unwillingly, to go with the salad too. I sit down at the lunch table. I guess Raven doesn't see me cause she doesn't say hi. I try to talk to Colleen, but she is busy chatting with Raven about the latest outfits that were in style. I finish up my salad. As I stand up to leave, Raven finally acknowledges me. “Oh Aubrey, I didn’t even see you there.” A smirk spreads across her face. “It’s okay.” I reassure her. At the end of school, my dad is already waiting for me. Doesn’t he have anything better to do with his life? I wonder. I'm still mad at dad, looking forward to tomorrow. Hope everything goes better.

Shut up dad

Ughhhhhhhhh... OMG He just doesn't understand me anymore. I mean really! Would you rather talk to your dad or your bff? He keeps nagging me about how he doesn't know what's going on in my life but HELLO!!!!! maybe I don't want him to know what's going on! Maybe I want to keep things to myself! He's not my only resource for telling things to! I HAVE FRIENDS!!!!! I don't know what's going on in his life but I'm not complaining! Actually, I don't think he has a life because if he did, he would not be harassing me at every possible second to see what I'm doing. God he frustrates me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Double date disaster...

This is horrible. Sooo horrible. Tonight was supposed to be special. I anxiously looked at my clock above the mantle. I knew it. Logan was late. I had promised Raven and her (hot) boyfriend that we would get together tonight. I didn’t want to blow this. I really wanted her to continue to like me. Finally I heard a beep outside. I rushed out the door, grabbing my coat and purse, and extra lip-gloss. I practically run to Logan’s car. He is ready to get out of the car and open to door for me, but I usher him back in his car. “Hurry up” I yell. His breathing starts to get faster. “Come on!” I say to him, “We need to hurry up. We should’ve been there 30 minutes ago!” He steps on the gas pedal. I open up his mirror and re-check my lip-gloss. 20 minutes later we are at the restaurant. I fix Logan up, straightening his tie and fixing his collar. “Why are we doing all this?” he wails. “Because I need Raven to like me more, and because I love you of course.” We walked to the front doors of the restaurant. “We're meeting my friend Raven” “Right this way,” the waiter tells us. “Always look at her and listen to what she’s saying.” I coach Logan. He rolls his eyes. Typical. “Right here” he waiter points to he table where Raven and Sean are siting. Raven takes a breath, “Finally decided to show up?” she scowls. I slide into the seat, with Logan right behind me. Raven and Sean started kissing again, and again. I try to ignore them, but they are just there, and they're hard to miss. “So,” I say, “Thank you for coming to dinner with us tonight.” “Mmm..” she answers. Raven and Sean are still kissing. I turn to Logan. He is playing with the straw paper, bored. Perfect. The waiter finally comes back to take our order. “I’ll have a salad.” Raven tells him. “Yeah me too.” says Sean. “Umm... well then give that to me also.” The waiter walks away. Logan sucks in his breath. The rest of the dinner went okay: I praised Raven; but she didn’t really talk to me. Raven and Sean made out the whole time. After the date, Logan took me home. “Well that went well,” he murmured. “Yeah, sure.” I answered. When we got to my house, Logan quickly opened the door for me. I stepped out and went to the front porch. I got out my key from my purse and opened the door. I started to walk in; “Oh yeah,” and I turned around and gave him a small peck on the lips. He looked at me, trying to get me to talk to him. “Thank you.” I said, and I walked inside. I bet Raven’s going to be talking about this at school on Monday. More tomorrow.

SLEEP OVER!!!

So, when I showed up to the sleep over, the rest of the squad was in the front yard of Blitzen's house, and were all practicing the cheer we learned this past week. I got out of the car and was greeted by most of my friends except Raven, my very most bestest friend. Raven is so amazing! She always knows exactly what to do, what cheers will get the crowd pumped, and always knows what is in style. Plus, her hair is perfectly blonde and her nails always match what she's wearing! So anyway. I walked into the house with Jenna and set my stuff down in Blitz's kitchen. When i looked up i saw Raven walking toward the door. "Hey Raven!" She looked at me and gave me a nod that said hey-what's-up, then was on her way. As soon as she shut the door, Jenna looked at me and asked me why I like Raven so much even though she treats me like dirt and always gives me looks that tell me to buzz off. Obviously, I had no idea what she was talking about because Raven and I are best friends. She tried to tell me that the look that Raven gave me was not a hey-what's-up kind of look but more of a don't-talk-to-me-ever-again look. She must have been confused because neither of us treats the other like dirt and that look that she gave me was most definitely a look of love and not one of contempt. We walked outside, found out that it was time to go to dinner at Mellow Mushroom, and hopped in the car. Mmmmmmmmm. Pizza. All for now!
